Exact format of the kids racing will be decided on the day dependig on the number and age of entries and their capabilities.
Registration will open at 18:00 and close at 18:20 for Ickle Monsters and L'il Beasts. Registration for all other categories will close at 19:15. You only need to fill in a registration form once per series. At subsequent rounds you are required to pay the entry fee and sign the sign-on sheet.
Entering online will allow you to turn up on the night and start without having to go to Registration (if you already have your number board and timing chip, obviously!)
A £5 deposit will be required for your timing chip and number board the first time you register (as of round 2). This should be kept for every round and returned at the end of the series.
The course will be open for practice between 19:00 and 19:25
Full race rules coming soon. Mountain bikes and cyclo-cross bikes will be allowed. In the event of a tie on points at the end of the series, the highest placed rider in the last round will be the winner.
The final round relay format will be a relay for teams of four on a very short (1-2min) lap open to all ages. Rider 1 from each team will line up on the start line together and complete a lap, handing over to rider 2 and so on. The first 'Rider 4' that crosses the line will be the winner.
Depending on the number of teams entered, we might run some relay heats with the top few teams going through to a final. Fancy dress is welcome.
The only real rule is that if you have an Ickle Monster or L'il Beast in your team, they must go first but will be directed to complete a super-duper short lap whilst the adults complete the full relay lap. Hopefully this will make it a bit fairer.
